Heartland Cultural Alliance Offers Children's Drawing Classes
The Peter Powell Roberts Museum of Art & Cultural Center in Avon Park is offering a children’s drawing class by international award-winning artist Beverly Marshall. The classes will be 1-2:30 p.m. The five-week class will be held on consecutive Saturdays, starting Saturday through Sept. 10.
This is a class for children 9 to 16 years old. Students will learn a specific technique that will get them drawing quickly. They will learn to see the detail in what they are working on, whether it is people or landscapes; learn different techniques in shading; the importance of light and dark areas; how to break down an image; and control a pencil to achieve different levels of detail and contrast.
Class size is limited to 12 students. The cost for the course of five 90-minute classes is $100. All supplies will be provided.
The Peter Powell Roberts Museum of Art and Cultural Center is located on the second floor, at 310 W. MainSt., Avon Park. Take the elevator at the north entrance of the building.
