Colleen Dukes of Career Source Heartland Speaks at July Luncheon

The Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce held it's networking luncheon on July 14, and this month's sponsor was The Palms of Sebring. The Palms was extremely generous with their sponsorship (once again), and donated their speaking time to CareerSource Heartland, our local workforce organziation. The keynote speaker was Colleen Dukes, Business Operations Manager at CareerSource. The event was well attended with members of local business community who came to meet, greet and eat. They also came to learn about the services that are offered by CareerSource, including opportunities for job seekers and businesses alike. In fact, most event-goers were pleasantly surprised to learn about the business assistance and grants that available to help train their staff and to train new employees for their business.  More information about CareerSource Heartland can be found atwww.careersourceheartland.com.

In addition to the excellent speaker, the membership showed up in full force to give their monthly member annoucements to keep the community up-to-date on any happenings.

The next networking luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, August 11 at 11:45am at Island View Restaurant. The sponsor is Better Schools for a Better Community, and the speaker is John Shoop to discuss the 1/2 cent sales tax initiative. RSVP is required, and is open to Chamber members are their guests.
